The model, successfully tested last year in London, aims to create a platform to encourage exchange between design manufacturers and international architecture practices. Architecture is shaping the way we live and build our cities, and this series offers a much-needed opportunity to join up architecture and design together.

The series also sees for the first time INTERNI partnering with Salone del Mobile, Milan’s leading international furniture fair – a testimony of the important role played today by the design manufacturing sector.

On Saturday 16 May the series kicked off with three appointments in Soho – home of Italian design showrooms: first up was Studio Dror at Technogym, followed by Vivian Lee, Richard Meier Architects at Luceplan, and with Karim Rashid at FontanaArte to conclude this first day.

Ranging from an intimate conversation on Studio Dror’s practice, a fascinating historical overview of Richard Meier Architects pivotal projects, to a poignant analysis of the state of design today – the talks offered tremendous first-hand access to some of New York’s most exciting design and architecture protagonists.
In true Italian style, every appointment was accompanied by delicious Italian delicatessen, in collaboration with I Love Italian Food (we do!) and Il Piccolo Caffe’.

In the world of Karim Rashid – ‘We live in a pioneering era, where the shift towards experiential living has been huge; Design makes our life better’.
We couldn’t agree more.
